I decided to take my kids exploring today and look at some of the flooding and wind damage in the Butte. We have taken a weather beating this last week and had some severe and damaging flooding all over the valley. Our family is in a safe spot, and were so grateful for our home during all of this. We came across an area with beautiful blue water during our drive and decided to stop. We hiked the trail and discovered that the area was definitely flooded and trees had fallen from the 100+ mile an hour winds we had. We also discovered, a disgusting car water graveyard. The cars were dumped a long time ago–I bet more than 50 years some of them. My kids thought there had been a terrible accident and my youngest leaned over into one of the cars and said “I’m sorry this happened to you people. I love you.” Cracked me up! My youngest has such an imagination. Even though I explain that the cars were actually dumped there and there was no major crash, the four of them were hesitant to believe me and on the lookout for bodies.
